Biography: Ouvé de Laage was born in France. She attended
"les Beaux Arts" art school in Paris where she studied
visual arts. While teaching art, Ouvé studied the "french
serti" technique, basically watercolor on silk, a painting
process that originated in Japan centuries ago.
In 1980 Ouvé opened a studio-gallery in Poitiers, France
where she further researched the technique, adding acrylic to her
palette. Ouvé moved to the US in 1983. She introduced and
taught the "french serti" technique at the university
of Oregon. Ouvé's work is shown in galleries both in Europe
and the US.
